Electro-Harmonix Pocket POG / Micro POG / Nano POG — monophonic octave divider and multiplier for faux-organ guitar. Common Reddit stack: slow attack → POG → Leslie (reddit-guitorgan.yaml). Hardware panel: Sub Octave, Octave, Dry level knobs (continuous, not a mode switch).
Not a Leslie — no rotary modulation (Lester K). Not pitch-down organ — no swell shoe or stops (Organ Donor). Not treadle whammy — fixed ±1 octave only (Bend Box).
| Step | What it does |
|---|---|
| Delay line write | Input stored in a ~250 ms sample-rate-sized ring buffer. |
| Sub voice 0.5× read | Read head advances at half speed → octave down; crossfaded reset when gap grows too large. |
| Oct voice 2.0× read | Read head at double speed → octave up; crossfaded reset before catching the write head. |
| Sub HPF ~85 Hz | Trims sub rumble on the −1 octave path (Whammy-class sub hygiene). |
| Oct LP ~4.2 kHz | Anti-alias smoothing on the +1 octave path. |
| Normalized mix | Weighted dry + sub + oct, divided by sum of weights. |
| tanh 1.35× | Soft saturation on the combined footages — organ-pad fullness. |
| Output | Mono; true bypass copies input unchanged. |
- Mono in/out - Monophonic — one delay line; chords smear like a real POG - Fixed ±1 octave only (no detune / poly modes) - No EHX Q-shift or filter voicing switches - True bypass (no engage ramp)
